Effertz stacking doors offer a largely smooth door leaf and thus good possibilities for surface design. They can be painted or foiled and can thus be adapted very well to the structural environment. This is of particular interest if the door is often closed and therefore visible. Since the door leaf sections are stacked one behind the other when opened, the surfaces do not touch and there are practically no abrasion marks.

Thanks to the stable door leaves and low-friction running, the Effertz stacking doors have successfully passed the highest durability function class of 200,000 cycles (use category 5) in a standardised test.

Effertz has been producing rolling shutters for over 100 years and fire rolling shutters for more than 80 years. At the beginning of the 1970s, Effertz was the first manufacturer to receive general building authority approval in Germany for a rolling fire shutter. There is probably no company in the world that has more experience in the construction of rolling fire shutter with thermal insulation properties, as prescribed in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also in many other countries.

The advantages of rolling shutters are, on the one hand, the relatively low space requirement above the opening, as they are rolled up to save space, and, on the other hand, the possibility of achieving very large sizes. Since the individual shutter profiles can be moved against each other within certain limits, no internal stresses arise in the rolling shutter and it can deform relatively freely. As a result, there are no breaks or cracks even with large temperature differences, so that fire protection is maintained and temperature and flames remain safely comparted. An entry in the Guinness Book of Records in 1980 with the then largest fire protection rolling shutter in the Schaubühne in Berlin (Germany) proved Effertz’s ability to manufacture and install large rolling shutters for safe fire protection. This record-breaking rolling shutter still works today, reliably ensuring fire protection in this theatre.

Effertz is a specialist for thermally insulated fire rolling doors with fabric curtains, also known as “fire curtains” for short. Here again, we were pioneers and in 2013 we were the first manufacturer to receive a general building authority approval from the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) for our thermally insulated fire curtain.

Our fire curtains require particularly little installation space, run very quietly and have also successfully completed a durability function test over 200,000 cycles. There should therefore be no doubt about their durability and reliability. In old buildings in particular, their low weight is another advantage, as the fabrics used are much lighter than steel. In terms of fire protection, they achieve the same performance classes as steel doors.

The Effertz Hydrowall flood protection door is quickly closed and securely sealed.  It has been tested according to a strict procedure by the European Flood Protection Association. It goes without saying that it meets all safety requirements for industrial doors. With its classification in the best possible tightness level 1, it offers the officially confirmed lowest leakage rate. In our tests, we significantly undercut it with a value of 0.01 l/min/m².
